Description
Electrical Systems Upgrade at Conchas Dam, CONCHAS DAM, SAN MIGUEL COUNTY, NEW MEXICO. This acquisition is a total Service-Disabled Veteran set-aside. Only bids from qualified Service-Disabled Veteran owned small business concerns, qualified by the Small Business Administration will be accepted. Bids received from concerns that are not certified by the SBA to participate in the Service-Disabled Veteran program shall be considered non-responsive and will be rejected. NAICS is 238210/SIC 1731, with a size standard of $13,000,000.00. The magnitude of construction is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. Bonding will be required for this acquisition. The bidders attention is directed to Section 00100 in the Solicitation for information regarding the tour of the site. Plans will be issued on or about March 21, 2008, with bids due on or about April 22, 2008. This solicitation will not be issued on paper. WORK CONSISTS of changing, replacing, and upgrading all electrical and communications system as per specifications and drawings, and in accordance with the latest edition of National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable standards, as may be required for complete operation systems. The work includes all power circuits and outlets, lighting circuits a nd fixtures, all wirings, panel boards, feeders and conduits, junction boxes switches, stand-by generator, automatic transfer switch, telephone system circuits, outlets, conduits, wirings, et cetera as indicated. All material removed from the electrical d emolition areas resulting from this work shall be removed from the dam site by the contractor at no extra expense to the Government. All electrical work on the dam exterior or on the bridge shall be coordinated with traffic flow and in accordance with the contractor's strict safety plan. Work will be performed within small and confined areas. The work area will be damp. Work area may also consist of wading through pools of water which may be more than two (2) inches in depth. Temperature may be as low as 50 degrees Fahrenheit. This project will be advertised as an Invitation for Bid. Proposed procurement will result in a firm fixed price contract. Notification of amendments shall be made via Internet only, as well. It is therefore the contractors responsib ility to check the following address daily for any posted changes to this solicitation.
