- Request for Information, Sources Sought M67854-08-I-1076 This Request for Information (RFI) is the initiation of market research under Part 10 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and is not a Request for Proposals (RFP). The Government does not intend to pay for any information furnished pursuant to this RFI. NARRATIVE The purpose of this RFI is to validate market research regarding the Performance Specification and receive input from industry concerning several logistical issues. A Draft Performance Specification is provided for comment. This commentary may be used to refine the Performance Specification for the MRTB, and will also be used to gage industry readiness to meet the program requirements. The draft logistical extracts define post-award event courses of action including a Supportability Demonstration, Production Acceptance test, and Testing of Initial Production Items. PM ONS desires to assess the industry capability to meet the parameters, and ensure transition of organic maintenance as early as possible after contract award. Industry is asked to provide feedback on the availability of the MRTB as a commercial item. PM ONS would like feedback on the following: ? Comments on the Draft Performance Specification PS-MRTB-001. ? Ability of vendors to provide a Supportability Demonstration Test Plan concurrent with MRTB proposals for evaluation of Organic Maintenance Capability, Technical Manuals, Training, Acceptance Test Procedures, use of Marine Corps organic tools and test equipment to maintain proposed MRTB systems, Performance Verification of Initial Production Articles, and Production Readiness. ? Availability of the MRTB as a Commercial item as per FAR Subpart 2.101. REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) This RFI is issued to allow Industry the opportunity to review the narrative and provide feedback and requested information to the below listed point of contact. Response date: 14 March 2008 NLT 1500 (EST) Format / Content: All responses to the Performance Specifications shall be submitted via a spreadsheet using Microsoft Excel Schedule and logistical feedback shall be submitted using slides via Microsoft Power Point All responses concerning Commercial Item availability shall be submitted via Microsoft Word Response type: Email only Response POC: Mr. Michael Berry at michael.p.berry@usmc.mil NOTE: This Request for Information is for planning purposes only and is issued in accordance with FAR Clause 52.215-3. No solicitation document exists at this time. Issuance of this notice does not constitute any obligation on the part of the Government to procure these items or to issue a solicitation. In addition, the Government is under no obligation to pay for information submitted in response to this RFI, and responses to this notice cannot be accepted as offers. Any information that the vendor considers proprietary should be clearly marked as such.
