- This combined synopsis/solicitation is amended to include the entire language of question 4 and the answer to that question - Question - Please clarify why this solicitation was classified as a brand name only for HP, Dell and IBM? These manufacturers are clearly among the most prolific in the server and desktop manufacturing field but there are many other vendors, such as Compellent Technologies, that offer superior SAN solutions. If this brand(s) name only requirement is relaxed, Alliance Micro/Compellent is prepared to provide a SAN solution that will fulfill all of the storage needs for all of the CLINs. Alliance Micro disputes the statement in the last paragraph of Attachment 2 that states, Providing any other equipment brand configuration will have a definite delay effect on the planned implementation schedule. As a manufacturer of SANs exclusively, Compellent routinely configures, proposes and deploys such storage systems in a matter of days rather than months. We believe that there is no justification for excluding other bidders because of this reason. Answer to question 4 - HP, Dell, and IBM all play in the High Availability Cluster space (along with providing Oracle RAC certified configurations). The example configurations were based off the vendors? provided documentation.
