Description
The James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital, Tampa, FL, intends to negotiate a sole source contract with ERHM Orthopedics, Inc. to provide the Anspach Effort, Inc. XMax high performance pneumatic system. ERHM Orthopedics, Inc. is an authorized distributor for Anspach Effort. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302-1; only one responsible source and no other systems will satisfy agency requirements. The items sought for this procurement are required to be compatible with existing equipment. This procurement is for the Anspach items, quantities (_), and part numbers listed as follows: XMAX Motor (4) XMAX; Sterilization Case & Tray (4) XM-CASE; Autolube-III w/foot control (4) AUTOLUBE-III; 6.5 CM Adult Crani Attachment (4) CRANI-A; 11.0 CM Long Attachment (4) LONG; 5 CM Heavy Duty Short Attachment (4) SHORT-HD; Perforator Driver w/Hudson End (4) CSR60; 20 DEG Angle Driver (4) MA-D20; Bearing Sleeve 15 CM Curved (4) MA-15C; 5.0 CM Short Attachment (4) SHORT; 7.5 CM Large Craniotome Attach (4) CRANI-L; 7.2 CM Attachment Adjusts 3-6 MM (4) ADG; Attachment Cleaning Brushes (4) ACB; and Promotional Literature Binder (4) 20-0015. The NAICS Code is 339113 and the Small Business Size standard is 500 employees. To the best of our knowledge, the Anspach XMax systems are unique in their features and capabilities. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notice to the Contracting Officer by 3:30 p.m. eastern time on March 11, 2008. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the capability of the firm to provide the specific products listed above. Responses will be evaluated. However, a determination by the VA not to compete the proposed procurement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the VA. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the sole source contract.
