- Description
- This questionnaire supports the US Army's need to procure a Bridge Erection Boat (BEB) that is capable of supporting tactical float bridge and rafting operations in its primary mission. The purpose of this questionnaire is to aid in determining the suitability of commercially available equipment (with minor modification if necessary) that will satisfy the US Army's requirements for a BEB. The acquisition is currently scheduled for FY08 but this is not a promise of future work. The BEB must be respo nsive in its ability to be rapidly deployed from its launch/retrieval platform, and be capable of quickly connecting to and maneuver float bridge components to form either a bridge or raft. The BEB must also have the ability to serve in support of diving o perations, transporting personnel, and as a water safety craft. The following requirements will likely be used in this acquisition: (A) General - Operated on JP-8 fuel; Provide means for detecting water depth and velocity, and the distance between far and near shores in real time; Interfaces with the Improved Ribbon Bridge (IRB) and Standard Ribbon Bridge (SRB). (B) Transportability - C-130 transportable in a single package; Highway transportable on M1977 Common Bridge Transporter (CBT), M14 Improved Bo at Cradle (IBC), and Bridge Adapter Pallet (BAP); Sea transportable on standard military sea assets; Rail transportable on standard military rail assets. Please answer as many questions as applicable to your products. Not all questions need to be answe red. Additionally, any supplemental information concerning the performance, human factors engineering/safety, reliability/maintainability, etc. of your products or any other literature concerning your company's warranty program, product longevity, dealers hip network, and reputation would be useful in this survey.
