- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, MD, intends to award a firm fixed price contract to provide technical and engineering support services to PMA-226, Cherry Point, NC, for the Aircraft Integrated Maintenance System (AIMS)installed on the CH-46E helicopter. The AIMS is a constellation of vibration sensors and other sensors that collect data necessary to conduct rotor blade track and balance, vibration data collection, and manipulation for health monitoring for all rotating components and engines. The data is presented to the cockpit crew and is usable for engine adjustments when prescribed. Additionally, the data is downloadable and is displayed on a ground station that is capable of displaying the collected data in a format that is usable to the ground maintenance forces. The AIMS is installed and operating on a fleet of over 150 CH-46E helicopters. This contract will provide on-site training for fleet users, on-site over the shoulder support for fleet users and to provide limited data management to the extent required to allow for uninterrupted transfer of collected data from the using community to the CH-46E in service support team at MCAS Cherry Point, NC. The key enablers for successful completion of this support are: (1) An intimate and complete understanding of the AIMS as installed on the current fleet of CH-46E helicopters; (2) A complete understanding of the current propulsion, transmission, drive, generator and other systems installed on the CH-46E that AIMS collects data from and on; (3) A complete and thorough understanding of how the United States Marine Corps accomplishes preventative and corrective maintenance on the CH-46E helicopter and how the AIMS interfaces with this maintenance effort. The contract will be for one base year and two option years. The solicitation is expected to be released on 15 April and contract award is forecast for 1 June 2008. The proposed contract will be awarded on a sole source basis to Diagnostic Solutions, Jacksonville, NC. Note 22 applies.
