Description
The FISC Norfolk Contracting Department, Groton Office requests responses from qualified sources capable of providing: Overhaul (repair and maintenance) of ten Submarine Seawolf-class Camels (overhaul of 6 camels + optional overhaul of 4 camels at the Government's discretion) in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) which will be included in the Request for Quote (RFQ). This is a SYNOPSIS for commercial services prepared in accordance with the information in FAR Subpart 12.6, and using Simplified Acquisition Procedures for commercial items found in FAR Part 13.5 as supplemented with the additional information included in this notice. This synopsis shall be posted on NECO (https://www.neco.navy.mil/). The RFQ number is N00189-08-T-G031. The NAICS code is 336611 - Ship Building and Repairing and the Small Business Standard of 1,000 employees. This is a total small business competitive action. The government intents to award a single award with the Camels d ue 16 weeks after date of contract for the first group of six camels, and 26 weeks after date of contract for the second group of four (4) additional camels. Within this time frame (26 weeks) the 10 camels shall be removed from the Subase piers, overhaul, and returned to the Subase piers. Questions regarding technical or contractual issues must be addressed to the Contract Specialist via e-mail of fax ONLY. This RFQ document incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through FAR and DFARS. It is the contractor's responsibility to be familiar with the applicable clauses and provisions. The clauses may be accessed in full text at these web addresses: www.arnet.gov and www. acq.osd.mil. Lack of registration in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database will make an offeror ineligible for award. The government anticipates release of the RFQ during the week of March 10 or March 17th.
