Description

The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Heart Lung, and Blood Institutes (NHLBI), Office of Acquisitions (OA), has a requirement for the Division of Intramural Research (DIR) Mouse Phenotyping Core Laboratory for the purchase of a Blood Pressure Biopotential, and Activity Measurement Systems/Transmitters, as outline below. This particular system is designed strictly for use in mice. In previous experiment the NHLBI investigators have used these transmitters for past research projects and a change in transmitter and system type would introduce an unacceptable variable. Follow on or new studies would require repeating studies to establish new baseline data and would unacceptably increase the number of animals that must be used. The planned experiments are to be conducted in transgenic and knockout mice so the smaller sized transmitter is the critical specification. Furthermore, transmitters purchased in the past can be used in conjunction with the new equipment.The requirement is under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing, Size Standard is 500 employees. This is a Small Business Set-A-Side.
