- Description
- The U.S. Army, Joint Munitions and Lethality Life Cycle Management Command Acquisition Center (JM&L LCMC Acq Ctr), in support of the U.S. Army Research Development Engineering Command ??? Armament Research Development and Engineering Center (RDECOM-ARDEC), is conducting a Market Survey to identify potential sources and vendors capable of providing a Silenced Stud Driver. The stud driver shall be similar in function to a commercial stud driver used in standard construction applications; however, the stud driver is required to emit no sound signature when operated. The stud driver shall operate through the discharge of a commercial off the shelf (COTS) caliber blank cartridge. Once discharged, the blank cartridge shall successfully drive a metallic rod into the target materials detailed below. Requirements are as follows: Length of Emplacement: 24 Hours Hang Weight Capability: Threshold: 50 lbs. Objective: 200 lbs Target: Threshold: Reinforced Concrete of 2.0 KSI Strength Objectives: Reinforced Concrete of 4.5 KSI Strength, Cinder Block, Wood, Metal, Adobe Probability of Successful Attachment per Mission: Threshold: 0.9 Attachment: Horizontally, stud will be parallel to the ground when attached to the target.
