- Survey, Design, and Construction of Approximately 30 km Asphalt Road, Kost Province, Afghanistan The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Afghanistan District intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) to award a Firm Fixed Price contract for the survey, design, and construction of approximately 30 km of 7m wide paved (100mm asphalt) road, with 1.5m gravel shoulders and an option to pave the shoulders from Tani (69.8297 E, 33.2428 N) to BSP 5 (69.5802 E, 33.1205 N) in Khost Province, Afghanistan.< BR>Option 1 is to pave the 1.5m shoulders with 100mm of asphalt pavement. Prior to starting the work, the contractor shall submit to AED - Kabul, for verification, the actual starting and ending coordinates, gathered in the field by the contractor. Th e contractor will be notified within seven (7) business days of receipt of said coordinates if AED concurs with them as the field-verified starting and ending coordinates. The work within this contract shall also meet and be constructed in accordance wi th the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) and Ministry of Public Works (MPW) Road and Highway Standards, safety and security standards and other references as stated in Section 01015 Technical Requirement . The award for this p rocurement will be made in accordance with the applicable Federal Acquisition Regulations. The applicable NAICS code is 237310. The magnitude of this requirement is between $10,000,000.00 and $25,000,000.00. The proposed contract will be awarded using b est value evaluation methods. Solicitation Number W917PM-08-R-0039 and will be available on or about 24 March 2008 on line at the Afghanistan Engineering District (AED) Web Site http://www.aed.usace.army.mil.
