- Description
- This combined synopsis/solicitation is amended to include the following questions and answers raised by a potential vendor: 1. SAS hard drives are listed as required for the MSA1000. The MSA1000 uses SCSI drives only according to HP. Please clarify how to proceed. Answer: The SAS for drives was probably a typo (from being copied/pasted from another configuration). The drive interface for the MSA1000 is SCSI. 2. A X5345 processor was listed for the Database node DL380G5. There is no such processor, but there is an E5345. It?s the same speed as the request. Is that the processor requested? Answer: The E5345 CPU is fine. The intention was to list a recommended processor or equivalent (a little better or worse depending on the costs 3. 3. Are two DL380G5 required for each application cluster node and are two DL380G5 required for each database node in the configuration? Answer: There are four machines total, two applications nodes for the application cluster and two database nodes for the database cluster. 4. 4. The 36Gb SCSI hard drives are out of production according to HP. Are 72Gb 15K RPM drives acceptable? Answer: 72 GB drives or larger is fine. The number of drives and their configuration mirror or stripping with parity does not matter as long as the storage is redundant and that the minimum amount of logical storage is meeting. In addition, if larger drives are only available and that means that there will be more storage than the minimum amount, that is ok. 5. CL005: Rack mount Keyboard and Monitor what size monitor you need. Can we incorporate the KVM switch into the Rack Mount, monitor is this being used with the two servers and does the KMV need to be able to work with the Red Hat. Answer: The KVM switch and the monitor can be incorporated together, and it has to be able to to operate seamlessly with Red Hat. One monitor will be used for all. A 19 inch with little or no borders, or the next size down would be needed. The date to send in responses is extended until Friday, March 14, 2008 at 2:00pm.
