Description
The VA Western New York Healthcare System, located in Buffalo, NY, has a requirement for preliminary and part 1 design services to consolidate our Ambulatory Surgery operations. The intent of the project is to relocate the Ambulatory Surgical Suite, currently located on Ward 5A, to the 2nd floor. This will result in all surgical functions, including surgery, recovery, ICU and outpatient surgery, all contiguous on the 2nd floor. The scope involves renovating all (or a portion of) the 13,586 GSF of existing 2nd floor space, along with investigating the potential to add 4,000 GSF of new adjoining roof space. The work includes, but is not limited to the following: consultation and discussion with VA staff to establish the parameters of the project involving designs/schemes for (1) all surgery rooms, (2) one consolidated ICU, (3) a post anesthesia recovery room, (4) outpatient surgery changing area, (5) offices and conference room(s), (6) quick response sprinklers/fire protection, (7) voice/data connections, (8) air changes for surgical procedures, (9) plumbing/electrical, and (10) General construction/finishes. This requirement is being issued through full and open competition. All A/E firms shall submit completed SF 330, as well as any other information demonstrating their ability to perform the requirements. Firms will be evaluated on at least (1) overall firm qualifications and experience, (2) VA or hospital experience, (3) individual team member qualifications and experience, (4) past performance, and (5) geographic location. All firms must have an office location within a seventy five (75) mile radius of the Buffalo VA Medical Center in order to be eligible for selection. All submissions must be received by the Contracting Officer by 4:00pm on Thursday, April 10, 2008.
