- Description
- The US Army RDECOM-ARDEC, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806, is conducting a market survey of companies within a 50-mile radius of Picatinny Arsenal, NJ to seek interested sources to meet a US Army requirement for obtaining production/manufacture/assembly/testing support for mechanisms, assemblies, specialized systems and structures. Items to be produced will be ???specialty in nature??? (e.g., exotic fin mechanisms, control/guidance steering mechanisms designs) in support of various munition/munition systems research and development programs managed by the RDECOM-ARDEC. Other items to be produced may involve the use of ???smart materials??? (SMA???s) or other exotic materials. This effort will involve all calibers of munitions/munition systems/munition delivery systems. It will also include the assembly of components into a specified assembly of a Government-furnished design. A secondary requirement will be to obtain support to fabricate developmental weapons, weapon components, munitions and munition delivery systems using Government-furnished drawings/designs. This objective may also involve assembly of components into subsystems/systems/mechanisms/assemblies/structures/ specialized systems as required. The proposed contract requires extensive experience and background in the design, fabrication, assembly and testing of complex mechanical systems/subsystems/ subassemblies with a high flight functioning reliability. It also requires capabilities/experience with remote armament systems, exotic materials (shaped memory alloys and Tantalum), developmental weapon parts/assemblies, exotic mechanical systems/assemblies and developmental munition components/assemblies. A draft Statement of Work is being provided with this notice for further information. Include company name, address, telephone number, and technical point of contact. This Market Survey is for planning purposes only and should not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the U.S. Government. The U.S. Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this Market Survey or otherwise pay for information solicited. The information you provide will only be used by the U.S. Army in developing its acquisition approach for future system research and development requirements. See Numbered Notes 25 and 26.
