It is anticipated this system will be comprised of numerous components, both Government Furnished Equipment and Contractor Furnishe d Equipment. For example, a ruggedized computer, a navigation system, ruggedized display module, etc... This will require interfacing with current and future equipment and weapons systems. This system must be modular in design, function and operational abi lity to facilitate current capabilities and any future upgrades or newly required capabilities for the digitized ground combat soldier. The system must meet combat soldier weight/size, power and interface requirements as a course of development. Some antic ipated requirements are as follows: -Entire system weighs no more than approximately 14lbs -Battery life must provide no less than 12 hours of operational mission life -Interface and operate with current Combat Net Radio System (CNRS) -Int erface with Joint Battle Command (JBC) system (JBC is currently in development) -Integrate with existing Interceptor body armor and associated individual fighting equipment -Must be 8500 IA compliant and 4630 interoperable The system must be so modular in nature so as to facilitate quick repair and/or system/component level replacement. Additionally, the system must be modular enough to permit tailoring to specific and multiple mission requirements. This system will, as a routine operationally interface with many other separate weapon and data related systems while in combat, in garrison or in a training status. This system must be weather proof (hot, warm, cold, rain or shine, dust, dirt, mud, etc&) and able to withstand significant levels of impact shock and soldier treatment. Request first prototype systems be delivered Not Later Than 9 months after contract award. All size OEMs are encouraged to respond. Evaluation criteria will be provided in subsequent Requests For Proposal (RFP). No unso licited proposals will be accepted or considered prior to official issuance of an RFP. NOTE: Capable OEMs should respond by 31 March 2008 with comments specific to ability to achieve prototype delivery 9 months after contract award.
