- Description
- The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) plans to procure services from a qualified organization having the capability to perform binding, functional, or other in vitro assays on compounds to determine potential medical side-effects. The Offeror should have the capability to perform high-throughput assays at a single site. The Offeror may perform other predictive toxicology assays needed to determine if a compound can potentially be developed into a medication. In order to handle substances under the Controlled Substances Act of 1970, it is mandatory that the successful offeror possess a DEA Research Registration for Schedules II to V and demonstrate the capability to obtain a DEA registration for Schedule I controlled substances. We anticipate the award of one cost reimbursement contract for a period of five years. RFP No. N01DA-8-8877 will be available electronically on or about March 27, 2008. You can access the RFP through the FedBizOpps (URL: http://www.fedbizopps.gov) or through the NIDA website: (URL: http://www.nida.nih.gov/RFP/RFPList.html). All information required for the submission of a proposal will be contained in or accessible through the RFP package. Response to the RFP will be due on or about May 16, 2008. NIDA will consider proposals submitted by any responsible offeror. Following proposal submission and the initial review, the Contracting Officer may require additional documentation from offerors in the competitive range. This advertisement does not commit the Government to award a contract. Note 26. Based upon market research, the Government is not using the policies contained in Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, in its solicitation for the described supplies or services. However, interested persons may identify to the contracting officer their interest and capability to satisfy the Government's requirement with a commercial item within 15 days of this notice. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (11-MAR-2008); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
