Description
The US Army Program Director Aircraft Survivability Equipment (PD ASE) has a requirement for a Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) system for training aviations crews to respond to small shoulder fired infrared (IR) surface to air threats. The trainer sh ould be self-contained and one-man portable, while still providing effective realistic training. The small shoulder IR threat trainer shall visually represent a shoulder fired surface-to-air missile (SAM) launcher and will have the capability to stimulate the Common Missile Warning System (CMWS) at ranges up to 5 km. The IR ASE training systems should have accurate target acquisition and ranging capability as well as the capability of recording visual engagement for night training missions. The system mus t be after action review (AAR) capable by having the ability to record on digital media and immediate playback. The AAR must contain range-to-target information, audio and visual indicators for stimulation cues, audio voice recording, and a GPS time stamp for verification and validation. The system should take no more than five (5) minutes to assemble and operate and no more than five (5) minutes to disassemble and place in an appropriate storage container. The system will be able to operate independentl y for no less than eight (8) hours. All connectors must be MIL spec compliant. The system must be capable of operating in high moisture and climatic environments. Corresponding training manuals, and technical data package (TDP) must be provided with the s ystems. The systems must be capable of supporting force-on-force collective training by integrating a Multiple-Integrated Laser Engagement System (MILES) 2000 & Tactical Engagement Simulation (TES) kill-or-be-killed system. The Government plans to p urchase a minimum of five (5) of the proposed system each year over a period of five (5) years. This notice does not constitute an invitation for bids or a Request for Proposal (RFP) and is not a commitment by the U.S. Government to procure subject products.
