- Description
- Design and fabricate graphite mold for 2.4" dia. x up to 18" ingot. Design and fabricate hot top 2.4" dia. x 5" to be used with mold. Formulate the alloy from high purity input materials. Customer will supply Pt and Ir sponge. Provide chemical analysis top and bottom of ingot. Estimated pour weight: 31.1 lbs based on alloy density of 0.299 lb/cu-in. HIP Cycle of 2200 degrees F, 15 ksi, 4 hour hold -piggyback with standard and superalloy work no extra charge. The work is to be conducted at Area B, Bldg 655 on Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. NAICS Code 331492, and Size Standard is 750 Employess. This is a Sole Source procurement. Synopsis published for informational purposes only. Solicitation documents are not available. This proposed contract action is for procurement of a service for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1. The proposed source is Sophisticated Alloys, Inc, Butler, PA. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the government will consider all quotations/responses received within five (5) days of the issuance of this notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
