Description

INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE: Letterkenny Army Depot (LEAD) has a requirement to procure a new HIMARS Travel Lock Actuator Test Stand, also known as a Universal Vertical Test Rig to test the HIMARS elctromechanical linear actuator P/N R584M62-5 or R58 4M62-4. The Statutory Authority permitting Other Than Full and Open Competition for this action is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as cited in FAR 6.302-1, when there is a supply or service available only from one or a limited number of responsible sources, and no o ther type of supplies or services will satisfy the agencys needs. This requirement will be negotiated on a sole-source basis with GE Aviation, 110 Algonquin Parkway, Whippany NJ 07981-1602. GE Aviation has proprietary design engineering for this HIMARS Tr avel Lock Actuator Test Stand, and is the only known source with the drawings and technical data necessary to manufacture this item within the project time constraints. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requir ement or submit proposals, which will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination not to compete this action based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the d iscretion of the Government. The NAICS code is 336413, Federal Supply Code is 6625, and the SIC is 3825. All respondents shall be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR), have a valid DUNS number, Cage Code, and Tax Identification Number . The solicitation will be posted to the following two websites on or around 28 March 2008, https://acquisition.army.mil/asfi/ and http://www.fedbizopps.gov/.
