Description
By way of this announcement, the Chicago District Corps of Engineers issues Modification 01 to its Pre-Solicitation Notice for the FY08 Dredging NIPSCO Bailey Intake Project. By way of this modification, interested bidders shall disregard in its ent irety the Pre-Solicitation Notice dated March 19, 2008 and use the announcement included in this Modification 01. By way of this announcement, the Chicago District Corps of Engineers issues a Pre-solicitation Notice for its FY08 Burns Harbor NIPSCO Dredging Project. The Contractor will be required to perform dredging to remove 150,000 cubic yards (cu. Yd.) of littoral drift sand from around the NIPSCO Bailey Station water intake. Disposal of the material will take place on the beach or just off-shor e of Ogden Dunes. Sand will be removed down to -20' Low Water Datum (LWD) with 1' of over depth allowed. Exact location of the dredging will be determined by pre-dredge survey. The Classification Code for this procurement is North American Industry Syst em (NAICS) 237990  Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction. COMPETITION IS RESTRICTED TO HUBZONE SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS. The Small Business Size Standard is $18.5 Million (Note: To be considered small for purposes of Government Dredging procure ment, a firm must perform at least 40 percent of the volume dredged with its own equipment or equipment owned by another small dredging concern). The estimated magnitude of the proposed procurement is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The Invitati on For Bid (IFB) Package will be downloadable from the INTERNET ONLY. The project specification files are Portable Document Format (PDF) files and can be viewed, navigated or printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Interested Bidders can download the IFB Pac kage from the Internet Site https://www.fedteds.gov/. The solicitation will be available at the above mentioned Internet site on or about 04 April 2008. The due date for bids will be on or about 07 May 2008 at 2:00 P.M. Central Standard Time (CST). In o rder for contractors to be awarded a contract with the Department of Defense, the contractor must be registered in Central Contractor Registration (CCR) System. Contractors can access the CCR for free at http://www.ccr.gov. The Government intends to awar d a FIRM-FIXED PRICE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT.
