Description

The Naval Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole source basis a Firm Fixed Price contract with Firstmark Aerospace Corporation for two Standby Compass Calibrators. They are used to align/calibrate the Compass Calibrator without removing the compass from the aircraft. The Government intends to procure this equipment under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (c)(1) as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Section 6.302-1. The FirstMark Aerospace Corporation Standby Compass Calibrator is unique in its specific ability to align/calibrate the Standby Compass while on the V-22 aircraft. It has been qualified and tested support the V-22. However, the Government will consider all responses within 15 days after the publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of this notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
