- Description
- The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) seeks sources and information on the availability of one (1) intaglio indirect / direct inking system test press. The Bureau intends to purchase such a press for its Washington, DC facility under a negotiated procurement using best value/trade offs in full and open competition. The solicitation is not available at this time. The equipment will be utilized in the BEP Product Development testing facility area as a pre-production print model directly related to the equipment printing method and print quality of the KBA Giori Super-Orlof Intaglio (indirect and direct inking system) printing presses currently used by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing in Washington D.C. The proposed equipment should be commercially available. The BEP would like to review product/service literature, installation specifications and budget pricing. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary. The BEP will not pay for information requested, nor will it compensate any respondent any cost incurred in developing information provided to the government. Industry comment on the attached DRAFT Statement of Need is appreciated. DRAFT STATEMENT OF WORK: Intaglio Test Press The usage of the desired equipment is two fold: 1) The primary usage is to duplicate in proof size production the: a. printing process of the related production equipment b. print quality of the related production equipment 2) The secondary usage is to support small quantity production of miscellaneous intaglio printings.
