- Description
- This a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR 12.6. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation and written solicitation will not be issued. This synopsis, identified as FDA-SOL-1040380, is to notify contractors that the government intends to issue a Purchase Order in accordance with FAR Part 13.106 for the following, full-time, services to be performed at the FDA, 10903 New Hampshire Avenue, Silver Spring MD 20993-0002. The purpose of this Purchase Order is provided technical support to the Food and Drug Administration's X-ray Calibration Laboratory located within the Center for Devices and Radiological Health. Support is needed for documenting requirements for developing an x-ray calibration program; Half Value Layer (HVL) protocol, programming and validation; evaluation of x-ray beam spectral results; statistical data analysis, and other functions related to the Laboratory. The contractor must have extensive experience working in a NVLAP accredited diagnostic x-ray calibration laboratory, as well as extensive experience as a NVLAP assessor. In depth experience is required for performing statistical analysis, analyzing spectra, familiarity with ISO 17025 as it relates to the NVLAP requirements for accreditation for a diagnostic x-ray laboratory, and experience and knowledge of all aspects of the laboratory in order to assist in writing hardware and software interfacing requirements for revamping the laboratory. The contractor must also have an in depth familiarity with the federal performance standards for medical diagnostic x-ray equipment and radiation-emitting electronic products. The contractor must have extensive technical and administrative experience working in a NVLAP accredited diagnostic x-ray calibration laboratory, as well as NVLAP assessor experience. In depth experience is required for performing statistical analysis, analyzing spectra, familiarity with ISO 17025 as it relates to the NVLAP requirements for accreditation for a diagnostic x-ray laboratory, and experience and knowledge of all aspects of a diagnostic x-ray standards laboratory in order to perform duties as outlined in the scope of this document. WORK TO BE PERFORMED: The contractor will provide the following support that meets or exceeds all existing NVLAP accredited CDRH X-Ray Calibration Laboratory internal quality control limits, and that conforms to NIST 150 Handbook 150 and ISO Standard 17025 for X-ray calibrations:
