Sherri Gurley is the point of contact for resolving website problems. Her email address is Sherri.L.Gurley@usace.army.mil. The following construc tion projects are programmed for the MI area: U.S. Army Garrison Detroit Arsenal, MI - Ground Systems Power and Energy Laboratory (FY 2008), Weapons Maintenance and Operations Center (FY 2009), Administrative Building/Parking Structure (FY 2009), Weapons System Support and Training Facility (FY 2010) and Heavy Vehicle Access Control Point (FY 2010). A project for Saginaw, MI, Army Reserve Center (FY 2009). These projects will be awarded through best value selection. Request for Proposal (RFP) solicitat ion packages will be issued for each of these projects. The RFPs will require contractors to submit performance, capability and technical and pricing information. The government will conduct source selection evaluation boards and identify the contractors that offer the best value to the Government. Construction Industry Forums provide information to contractors about upcoming project scopes, the solicitation process, and working with the federal government. The benefit to contractors is the opportunity to address questions regarding the submission requirements and processes with those directly involved. The forum also allows contractors to network which could lead to possible teaming opportunities. In addition to benefits the Industry Forum provides t o businesses, the forum also benefits the Corps and the government, said Louisville District Commander Col. Raymond Midkiff. It is in the best interest of the government to maximize competition. With a competitive pool of bidders, the government can ge t the best quality of work at the best value.
