Description

DESCRIPTION: This work consists of designing, fabricating, and delivering a vehicle bridge superstructure, 85' long x 14' wide. Use steel conforming to the requirements of ASTM A588, A992, A572, or A36 for the major superstructure components (girders, diaphragms, etc.) and ASTM A36 galvanized steel for the decking. Use fasteners and hardware consistent with the major metal components being joined. Provide untreated tight grain, tight knot Coast Region Douglas-fir timber for the deck running surface. Provide a modular design that employs steel wide flange or plate girders as the main load carrying members. Design and fabricate the bridge in longitudinal sections that may be joined along their edges to form the full width structure in the field with basic tools and skills. The contractor will not be responsible for installation of the bridge. Target delivery date for the bridge is September, 2008. SOLICITATION DETAILS: This is a best value commercial item procurement open to all business concerns without regard to size. The NAICS code for this project is 332312 and the small business size standard is 500 employees.
