Description

The US Geological Survey intends to award a firm fixed price competitive purchase order under FAR Part 12, "Acquisition of Commercial Items", for professional consulting services related to coastal evolution modeling in and around the San Francisco Bay region. At a minimum the contractor shall: 1) Provide assistance with hindcast and prediction of coastal processes using Delft3D numerical modeling package. 2) Possess a working knowledge of instrumentation & software for the collection, post-processing, & analysis of wave, current (Nortek AWACs, Aquadopps, & RDI Sentinel Workhorses), & morphodynamic (INX sonars & RTK GPS systems) data. 3) Compare field observations of shoreline change & morphological evolution of the nearshore region to model predictions, with particualr emphasis on longshore transport along Crissy Marsh in central San Francisco Bay. 4) Evaluate the morphologic stability of a marsh entrance based on present configuration as well as other hypothetical marsh configurations. 5) Assist with set-up and maintenance of web cameras for collections of nearshore hydrodynamic & morphodynamic data. 6) Attend scientific, technical, & planning meetings & make presentations as directed. This notice of intent is a request for competitive quotes and interested parties may identify their interest by requesting the Request for Quote (RFQ 08WRQQ0062) from the Contract Specialist by email (sevans@usgs.gov) no later than the date shown on the anouncement.
