- Description
- Interpretation and translation support to the Global Threat Reduction (GTR) project, as well as other projects supporting contract work in Russia, the United States, and possible in other nations, dealing with nuclear and radiological threat reduction issues. Interpretation will primarily be consecutive interpretation of mid-to-high-level meetings, negotiations and foreign visits associated with the securing, dismantlement and disposition of industrial radioactive sources and radioisotope thermoelectric generators. Translation of contract documents exchanged daily and interpretation will primarily be English-to-Russian and Russian-to-English; however, similar support may also be required for other languages. Interpreting will be at sites in Russia, the United States, or other nations, as well as during weekly conference calls between the U.S. Project Team and Russian Teams. Foreign travel, occasionally to spartan locations, will be a requirement. Adherence to the specifications of Department of Energy (DOE) Order 551.1 B Official Foreign Travel is required, and participation in pre-travel briefings and post-travel debriefings is required, if requested. All foreign nationals providing support will be subject to assignment under the provisions of DOE Order 142.3 Unclassified Foreign Visits and Assignments, and will thereby be required to provide additional information related to their passports and visas. On-site interpretation support will typically require two interpreters, and in Russia, one interpreter must be included on the currently-approved Russian Federation 185 Access List. Please submit a capabilities statement for this requirement and include a list of interpreters currently on the approved Russian Federation 185 Access List.
