Description
The Bureau of Reclamation, Boulder City Regional office, Boulder City Nevada, intends to award on a sole source basis a purchase order to the University of Colorado, 3100 Marine Street, Room 481, Boulder City, CO 80309-0572, for advanced decision support for Water and Environmental systems (CU-CADSWES) for software maintenance of the Riverware modeling tool and the Hydrological database (HDB), and for providing technology transfer and user support to the Lower Colorado (LC) region in the use of these tools. Since 1993, Reclamation, the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), the U.S. Geological Survey, and the University of Colorado's Center for Advanced Decision Support for Water and Environmental Systems (CADSWES) have participated in a collaborative research and development program to develop decision support tools for water management. Two major applications from this program are used by Boulder City operations office: Riverware, a generalized river and reservoir data management system. The contractor (CADSWES) developed, enhances, and maintains these packages for the users and is, therefore, the only entity able to provide these services. Provide user technical support and documentation to Reclamation personnel in the development, testing, and use of various models and rule sets developed within the Riverware: Provide technical support and documentation to Reclamation personnel in the development, testing, and use of the various models and rule sets developed within the Riverware modeling framework, and all integrated applications. This task includes helping Reclamation modelers analyze model runs, evaluation of modeling or data transfer problems to determine how to solve problems, or what new functionality is needed. Continue to provide information to Reclamation by way of informational meetings, and/or developing additional technical documents as requested. Provide software maintenance for upcoming releases of the Riverware software: Prepare maintenance and support for all Riverware software releases and all other integrated applications, which includes patch releases for minor software revisions as needed. Upgrade compilers and other software libraries as needed. Continue to provide a web-based, bug-filing and tracking system, fixing priority bugs and making periodic software releases to all installation sites for both Solaris and Windows operating systems. Provide user technical support and documentation for the Hydrologic database: Provide technical support to Reclamation LC offices in the installation and configuration of the Hydrologic Database. Consult with Reclamation on identification of problems and solutions, including development of new functional requirements. Continue to provide information to Reclamation by way of informational meetings, and/or developing additional technical documents as requested. Provide software maintenance for the Hydrologic Database: Provide maintenance and support for all new releases of the Hydrologic Database and all integrated applications. Upgrade software and fix priority problems as needed. Anticipated award date: April 15th, 2008.
