Description
In accordance with FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b) the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC)intends to issue a sole-source purchase order to Westat, Inc in Rockville, MD for $49,936.00.The contractor shall provide assistance and oversight to investigators on the conduct of the CDC funded clinical trails for randomized placebo controlled study of limited vs.continuous Isoniard Tuberculosis prevention therapy for HIV-infected persons in Botswana being held at eight(8)clinics located in Botswana. The contractor shall be responsible for verifying the following: (1)that human rights and subjects are protected:(2)the data is accurate, complete and verifiable; and(3)the trail is conducted in compliance with the protocol and any amendments, according to Good Clinical Practices (GCP).Westat shall make monitoring visits to the CDC funded clinical trail sites to ensure the clinical sites are being conducted according to GCP and other relevant clinical trial standards.Westat Incorporation has considerable experience working with Botswana, USA(BOTUSA)on this requirement. They have been working with this study since 2005 and have the trained professional staff necessary to perform the monitoring required by CDC in collaboration with the eight clinics throughout Botswana. Westat has prepared the recommendations and guidelines for the placebo study sites in Botswana. The information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement.
