- INSTITUTE CREEK PARK BANK STABILIZATION REQUEST FOR QUOTES (RFQ) GENERAL PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The purpose of this contract is for restoration of an eroding streambank and installation of a rock/woody debris revetment to provide long-term stabilization to the restored bank. Work includes mobilization, structure excavation, supply and replacement of riprap, borrow, and/or large woody debris, bank fill placement, rock staircases and quality control. Performance time required is 120 calendar days. The estimated price range for this acquisition is between $25,000 - $100,000. PROJECT LOCATION: The project area is located off of the Zimovia Highway at Milepost 4.5, Across Institute Creek from the Shoemaker Bay Marina. Institute Creek Park is on Wrangell Island, approximately 6 miles south of the city center of Wrangell, AK. Wrangell, Alaska is linked to Seattle, Washington via Alaska Airlines, the Alaska Marine Highway Ferry System and barge services from Seattle. OBTAINING A SOLICITATION: The solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps website on or about April 12, 2008 for viewing and printing. Potential bidders are requested to obtain the solicitation from the Internet. If unable to successfully obtain the solicitation from the Internet, then a hard copy of the solicitation documents may be requested via fax at 907.228.6254. Fax requests must reference solicitation number AG-0116-S-08-0023. Telephone requests will not be honored. Quotes will be due approximately 30 calendar days after the solicitation issue date. AUTOMATIC NOTIFICATION: By registering to receive notification on posted synopses, you will be automatically notified via email of any changes to the project. The Forest Service will not notify you of any changes, the vendor is required to monitor this solicitation through this system. To register, select Register to Receive Notification and follow the steps. Follow the same procedure for EACH project. PLAN HOLDERS LISTS: The Interested Vendors List (IVL) has replaced the plan Holders Lists that was previously available with solicitation packages. Access the IVL for all projects through the FedBizOpps website. To register as an interested vendor, select Register as an Interested Vendor and follow the steps. Follow this procedure for EACH project of interest. Use the Register as Interested Vendor option to add your company name to the IVL and then view or print the IVL by selecting View List of Interested Vendors for EACH project. IMPORTANT NOTE: In order to receive any contract award, Vendors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) databases. To register your firm in the CCR system, go to: http://www.ccr.gov or by calling 1-888-227-2423 or 269-961-5757. To register your firm in the ORCA system, go to: http://www.bpn.gov.
