Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; price proposal s are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is W912P6-08-Q-0007 and is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-15. The NAICS code for this requirement is 212313, with a size standard of 500 employees. This acquisition is UNRESTRICTED TO BUSINESS SIZE. The provisions at 52.212.1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial applies to thi s acquisition. Offerors must include a completed copy of the provision at 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items with this offer. The clause 52.212-4, Contract terms and conditions-Commercial Items applies to this acquisitio n. The clause 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions required to implement Statues or Executive Orders-Commercial Items applies to this acquisition. The following clauses listed in 52.212-5(b) and (c) are included by reference: 5.222-21; 52.222-22; 52.222 -23; 52.222-41; 52.225.3; 52.232-34. The following clauses also apply to this acquisition 52.246-2, 52.247-34, 52.211-8, 52.228-10, 52.232-19, 52.236-13 and 52.211-16, (Variation in Quantity  The permissible variation for a particular delivery order shal l be limited to 5 Percent increase 5 Percent decrease ) The Government reserves the right to make an award on the initial quote without discussions on this procurement. Award will be made to the responsive and responsible offeror who submits the lowest a ggregate price. PROCUREMENT: The Government seeks to acquire 12,000 Tons of Type A stone and 6 Tons of Type B stone. The Contractor will be responsible to supply, deliver, unload, and place the blocks onsite as directed and temporary piling of grani te, quartzite, gabbro, diabase, basalt, or granodiorite stone materials. The stone is divided into two size categories as follows; Type A-Stone (each piece ranges between 8-15 Tons in size), and Type B-Stone (each piece ranges between 3-7 Tons in size). The Contractor shall deliver the stone by marine or land transportation to two different delivery points. The first delivery point is the Chicago District Stone Dock in the Calumet Harbor. This site is located on the north side of the mouth of the Calumet River; the nearest street address of this location is 8555 South Green Bay Avenue, Chicago, IL 60617. This is the location of the public street intersection is East 86th Street, and South Green Bay Avenue in the City of Chicago. The second delivery point is in Burns Waterway Harbor. This delivery location will be accessible by marine transportation only. Barge loads of stone will be delivered to a Government-operated crane-barge operating within the harbor, unloaded by crane-barge personnel, and th e empty barge will be secured along the west wall of the West Harbor Arm for pickup by the Contractor.
