- The purpose of this contract is to secure services for precommercial thinning of approximately 46 acres of conifer reproduction, approximately 18 to 20 years old. The project area is located in the Tongass National Forest, Hoonah Ranger District. All Items are located in the Salt Lake Bay area approximately 10 air miles west of Hoonah, Alaska. The Salt Lake Bay area is on the remote Salt Lake Bay road system that is accessible only by boat or floatplane based out of Hoonah or Juneau, Alaska. This remote road system is open for vehicles and ATVs. In the proposed solicitation; Item 1 and 2 are approximately 4 road miles southwest of the dock located in Salt Lake Bay. Item 3 is located approximately 4.5 road miles southwest of the dock in Salt Lake Bay. The performance period is 100 calendar days. The solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps website on or about APRIL 14, 2008 for viewing and printing. Potential offerors are requested to obtain the solicitation from the Internet if at all possible. Alternatively, a hard copy of the solicitation documents may be requested via fax at 907.747.4289. Fax requests should reference solicitation AG-0114-S-08-0011. Telephone requests will not be honored. Offers will be due approximately 30 calendar days after the solicitation issue date. AUTOMATIC NOTIFICATION: By registering to receive notification on posted synopses, you will be automatically notified via email of any changes to the project. To register, select Register to Receive Notification and follow the steps. Follow the same procedure for EACH project. PLAN HOLDERS LISTS: The Interested Vendors List (IVL) has replaced the plan Holders Lists that was previously available with solicitation packages. Access the IVL for all projects through the FedBizOpps website. To register as an interested vendor, select Register as an Interested Vendor and follow the steps. Follow this procedure for EACH project of interest. Use the Register as Interested Vendor option to add your company name to the IVL and then view or print the IVL by selecting View List of Interested Vendors for each project. In order to receive any contract award, Vendors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA). To register your firm in the CCR system, go to: http://www.ccr.gov or by calling 1-888-227-2423 or 269-961-5757. To register your firm in the ORCA system, go to: http://www.bpn.gov.
