Description
Description This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is RFQ-41207-012-8 and is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ). This acquisition is a total small business set-aside. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: The Federal Medical Center located at 22110 East Center Street, Rochester, MN 55604, is requesting quotes for Fencing Materials. All prices must be quoted FOB Destination. Delivery is required within 45 days of award.. Specifications for fencing material : -END, CORNER AND PULL POSTS-- Sch. 40 minimum, ASTM F1083. -For Perimeter Security Fence and Internal Control Fence--No. 9 gauge steel wires, 50 mm (2") mesh, with top selvage twisted and barbed and bottom selvage twisted and barbed meeting or exceeding the requirements of FGD RR-F-00191/1. Fabric shall be a steel fabric with an aluminum coating prior to weaving. The aluminum coating finish conforms to requirements of ASTM A491. The aluminum coating provided is a minimum of 122 g/m2 (0.40 oz/ft2) of wire surface. 25-year written warranty against failure due to rust or corrosion. -MISCELLANEOUS MATERIALS--Tie wires shall be produced from a 9-gauge steel core wire with aluminum coating (122 g aluminum per square meter) Tension and Brace Bands: All bands shall be beveled 12-gauge galvanized steel. Galvanized coating shall meet specification ASTM A123. -INTERNAL FENCE (CONTROL FENCE)--ASTM F 1043 shall be referenced for chain link fence pipe -GATE POSTS: For nominal gate width as follows--Over 1.8 m (6') to 3.7 m (12'), minimum 102 mm (4") O.D. Sch. 40 pipe FINISH FOR FRAMEWORK AND APPURTENANCES A. Galvanized finish with not less than minimum weight of zinc per square meter complying with the following: 1. Pipe: a. ASTM F 1043 and ASTM F1083, 610 g/m2 (2 oz/ft2) zinc for Steel Pipe Grade A b. ASTM F1043 for Steel Pipe Grade B, see section FRAMEWORK below. 2. Quotes must be received at the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Federal Medical Center, 2110 East Center Street, Rochester, MN 55904 no later than 2:00pm local time on Friday, April 24, 2008. Written quotes will be accepted by mail or hand-carried delivery. Mailed or Hand-carried Quotes must be delivered to the attention of Andrew J. Bianco, Contract Specialist at the address shown. The official point of receipt for hand-carried quotes will be at the Front Lobby of the address listed above. Please give written advanced notice to Contracting Officer prior to hand-carrying quotes to accommodate access to secured base.
