- SUBJECT: NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT DESC: Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, it is the Governments intent to award a sole source procurement to Ventana Medical Systems, Inc. for the purchase of Reagents, Test Kits, Antigens and Antibodies for use in diagnosing patient care cases. Existing equipments testing and diagnostic capabilities are based on Ventanas proprietary software operating system, comprised of uniquely programmed algorithms. The solutions of buffers and washes used in these machines, in conjunction with the antigens and antibodies presented in the specified test kits, are specially formulated by Ventana Medical Systems, Inc. to be compatible with the laboratory machines and equipments algorithm software and other mechanical calibrated and certified processes. This is not a formal solicitation. This synopsis is not considered a Request for Quotation or Proposal. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. If no affirmative written response is received, the purchase will be awarded without further notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
