- The U. S. Department of Commerce, NOAA intends to solicit for purchase of 15 each, NEXRAD Radar Pulse Transformer, IAW Westinghouse Drawing No. 155C813H01, NSN: 5950-01-294-2886; ASN: R400-3A11T3. The Pulse Transformer is a part of the WSR-88D Transmitter designed by Westinghouse and documented in Source Control Drawing (SCD) 155C813H01. The only approved source of supply that currently markets this product is Magnetika, Inc. The FLIS Logistics Database list Northrup Grumman (Westinghouse no longer markets the product) and United Transformer Corporation (no longer in business) as the other licensed manufacturers for the product. Specific Technical Features: The technical features of this item are documented in Drawing No. 155C813 and include: Input Voltage, Output Voltage, DC Resistance, Turns Ratio, Polarity, Dielectric Test Requirements, Inductance Test Requirements, Dimensions, Terminal Type, Environmental Requirements, Quality Assurance Provisions, Packaging, Marking, and Shipping. This item is being purchased for the National Weather Service (NWS)/NEXRAD/ Radar Operations Center (ROC) program to be delivered to the National Logistics Support Center, Kansas City, MO. The supplies are to be shipped on a FOB Destination basis. The intended procurement is for supplies for which the Government intends to acquire under the guidelines of FAR Part 12, Commercial Items. The Government will require first article testing under this requirement. The NWS special packaging/marking requirement will be applicable. Any small business sources are encouraged to respond to this announcement within 10 days after its publication. Interested firms should submit in writing, its name, address, point of contact, telephone number, business size and a brief statement regarding its capability to provide the specified equipment. Also include the name, telephone number, and point of contact for businesses or other Government agency to which it has previously provided the item. All responsible sources may submit a quote which will be considered by the Agency. All contractors doing business with the Central Region Acquisition Division (CRAD) must be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) or certification of registration in the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA). This is a Government initiative that was designed by the Integrated Acquisition Environment (IAE) to replace the paper Representations and Certifications (Reps & Certs) process.
