- NAICS Code: 923110 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), in Washington, DC, intends to award a Purchase Order for attendance of the 4th National Minority Serving Research Institutions' Partnership Conference (MISRP2008). The event will be hosted by Dillard University in New Orleans, Louisiana, from May 12-15 2008, and award will be made under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The purpose of this Purchase Order is to increase opportunities and awareness of the EPA mission and to increase EPAs support of Minority Academic Institutions. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 923110. NO SOLICITATION OR REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) IS AVAILABLE. It has been determined that Dillard University is uniquely qualified to satisfy the Government's requirement as they are the only organization hosting the 2008 MSIRP Conference. This conference will bring together representatives from Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs, HBCU, HsI, and Tribal Colleges/Universities), as well as, major research universities. The purpose of the conference is to exchange ideas, share best practices and plan for conducting future research with partners from funding agencies, small businesses, and corporations. The Conference theme is "Broadening the Scope: Expanding Research Competitiveness in Minority Institutions" Under this Purchase Order, the EPA will be provided with: (1) Conference Registrations for 30 employees, (2) Recognition as one of the prime sponsor's in the Premier Conference Event, (3) Recognition as a sponsor on the web page and printed publications, (4) Two-page advertisement in the conference program, (5) Opportunity for staff to serve on the Conference Steering Committee, (6) Unlimited access to the complete list of conference participants, and (7) Exhibit spaces, and (8) Banner display in the exhibit hall. Notwithstanding, any firm that believes it is capable of meeting EPA's requirement as stated herein may submit their corporate capabilities, which if received by the response date of this announcement may be considered. Responses to posting must be in writing and submitted to Nicole Humphrey, Contract Specialist at humphrey.nicole@epa.gov and the Contracting Officer, Jody Gosnell, at gosnell.jody@epa.gov by 2:00PM EDT on Monday, April 11, 2008. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
