- Description
- NASA/LaRC has a requirement for thefabrication, delivery and installation of one (1) Computer NumericalControlled (CNC) 5-Axis Machining Center. The Machining Center shall bedelivered FOB to Langley Research Center, Hampton, Virginia, off loadedand installed in Building 1225, Room 101 within 40 weeks after contractaward. The Machining Center will be used in a research environment forthe manufacture of highly accurate and unique aerospace hardwareincluding prototype models, flight test articles, developmentalinstrumentation, and wind tunnel test equipment. Footprint requirementsapply. A detailed statement of work is included as an attachment on theOn-Line RFQ system. This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial itemsprepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, assupplemented with additional information included in this notice. Thisannouncement constitutes the only solicitation, which is issued as aRequest for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are being requested and a writtensolicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to use theOn-Line RFQ system to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system islinked above or it may be accessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin=. Theinformation required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12,the Simplified Acquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13, and theTest Program for Certain Commercial Items in FAR Part 13.5. Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing(e-mail is preferred) no later than April 16, 2008. It is the quotersresponsibility to monitor this site for the release of amendments (ifany). Potential quoters will be responsible for downloading their owncopy of this notice, the on-line RFQ and amendments (if any). An ombudsman has been appointed - See NASA Specific Note "B". Any referenced notes may be viewed at the following URLs link below. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 333512 and 500 respectively. All responsible and eligible sources may submit a quotation which shallbe considered by the agency. The solicitation and any document related to this procurement will beavailable over the internet.
