Description
Sources Sought Notification for High-Performance Ion & Liquid Chromatographs for Mixed Oxide Fuel Fabrication Facility (MFFF). Shaw AREVA MOX Services, LLC (MOX Services) is seeking suppliers/subcontractors with experience supplying High-Performance Ion & Liquid Chromatographs. The chromatographs to be acquired will support the construction of a Mixed Oxide Fuel Fabrication Facility to be built at the Department of Energy (DOE) Savannah River Site (SRS). The chromatographs are Quality Level 4 (QL-4) and will be purchased under a Supply Subcontract. One type of High-Performance Ion Chromatograph (HPIC) will be customized to perform ion determinations on radioactive samples coming from MOX process production units that must be contained in gloveboxes. The samples must remain confined within the glovebox throughout the entire operation. The species to be determined are the following: oxalates, nitrites, azides, nitrates, chlorides, fluorides, hydroxylamine nitrate (HAN) and hydrazine. Another type of High-Performance Ion Chromatograph (HPIC) will be a standard, supplier catalog model chromatograph. This chromatograph will be used for chemical analysis of: • Raw reagents at the reagents delivery point to check their quality • Prepared reagents after mixing, diluting, etc. to check the preparation The ions to be determined in various reagents are the following: SO4-, Cl-, C2O4- and SO32-. The High-Performance Liquid Chromatograph (HPLC) will be customized to perform ion determinations on radioactive samples coming from MOX process production units that must be contained in gloveboxes. The samples must remain confined within the glovebox throughout the entire operation. The species to be determined are the following: Uranium VI content, and TriButyl Phosphate (TBP)/DiButyl Phosphate (DBP) contents in both organic and aqueous samples.
