- [BASIC STATEMENT OF REQUIREMENT]NASA/DFRC has a requirement for four each network switches, to be utilized as part of theSOFIA Mission Computer Control System (MCCS). Four of the chassis will be used on theplane, one for the Video Distribution Subsystem (VDS) and three for the MCCS networks platform, experimenter and guest. The other two switches will constitute functionallyequivalent spares for the critical MCCS network. The MCCS network requirements call foreach switch to have a minimum of ten fiber optic connections and 10 copper connections,while the VDS system is an all copper configuration. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are NOT acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
