- Description
- The U.S. Coast Guard intends to procure 15 Annual Memberships, and annual training for the Military Child Education program. This proposed procurement is for services for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole source basis to MILITARY CHILD EDUCATION COALITION. 108 EAST FM 2410, SUITE D, HARKER HEIGHTS, TX 76548. SCOPE: 1.)Membership in and training support from MCEC for Coast Guard installations of ISC Alameda, Boston, Cleveland, Honolulu, Ketchikan, Kodiak, Miami, New Orleans, Portsmouth, San Pedro, Seattle, and St. Louis, along with HSC, Sector New York, and Tracen Cape May. 2.)The membership and training service will provide the opportunity for Coast Guard members’ access to educational support services for their school age children through the Coast Guard locations listed above, DOD, and other community sites. 3.)MCEC is a chartered nonprofit 501© (3) corporation and reports 95% of all funding received is spent on programs and initiatives that directly affect military families. 4.)The service provided by MCEC is compatible with existing systems currently in place in the Office of Work-Life. The Office of Work-Life provides family advocacy, special needs, employee assistance, transition/relocation, health promotion, substance abuse, and food services, child care, ombudsman, adoption reimbursement, elder care, scholarships and other family support services. The MCEC has developed a proven reputation for innovative and user-friendly products with Work-Life programs. 5.)The MCEC is a coalition led by a board experienced with military family issues. Consisting of several retired military members and spouses of military members. 6.)With more than 1,500 memberships worldwide, the coalition serves 1.85 million military connected children from the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corp, Coast Guard, and the Reservists through a network of school systems and military installations.. Note 22. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty-five days (thirty days if award is issued under an existing basic ordering agreement) after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
