Description
The U.S. Department of Transportation, Maritime Administration (MARAD) intends to procure repairs on the USTS Texas Clipper. Work consists of moving UNREP (Underway replenishment) equipment fwd and amidships, remove UNREP equipment aft, remove HP Air Receivers, overhaul number 4 SSDG (ship's service diesel generator), replace mechanical seal sludge pump, replace mechanical seal #3 salt water pump, install main engine jacket water heaters, insert aft peak tank top, and replace air conditioner in machine shop. The vessel is located at the Texas A&M Maritime Academy dock, 200 Seawolf Pkwy, Galveston, TX 77554. All work to be performed at that location in Galveston, TX. The solicitation will be available by electronic posting and may be found at www.fedbizopps.gov or http://ideasec.nbc.gov and should be posted on or about May 19, 2008. (1) Contractors are required to register or update their registration at the Central Contractor Registration website at www.ccr.gov in order to receive a contract award under this solicitation. (2) No paper copies of the solicitation will be available. Bids however will not be accepted electronically. They are to be submitted to the Contracting Officer's attention: Maritime Administration, Division of Gulf Operations, 500 Poydras St., Suite 1223, New Orleans, LA 70130. (3) Effective January 1, 2005, bidders are to submit representations and certifications electronically via the Business Partner Network (BPN) Website at http://orca.bpn.gov. (4) ATTENTION: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs)! The Department of Transportation (DOT), Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts.
