Description
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) intends to award on a sole source basis, under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures, FAR Part 13, a firm fixed price award to First DataBank, 8425 Woodfield Crossing Blvd., Indianapolis, IN 46250 to purchase license to the National Drug Data File (NDDF). The purpose of this procurement is to obtain additional license for NDC drug codes and data information for electronic delivery to CMS on a daily basis with weekly master file distribution. The First Data Bank (FDB) is the only source of the National NDDF, which CMS/ORDI needs to carry out research. Careful market research was performed and found FDB either purchase all other previously existing data sources, or the other data sources are no longer in existence. In order to qualify as a potential contractor for this current award, the identical data files (NDDF) must already be in existence and available to the contractor. FDB’s products include a complete line of drug databases, including clinical decision support and disease suite modules, applicators program interfaces, and stand alone PC products. For more than 30 years, their databases have been incorporated into thousands of vendor and independent backbone systems. The FDB databases include descriptive drug information, drug pricing, and drug identification. FDB’s unsurpassed clinical information and drug data, combined with Medi-Span’s drug databases in the most complete source of current and authoritative drug information available. All responsible sources may submit capability statements in consideration to the Agency at the above address. Therefore, this notice is not a request for a submission. However, interested parties may submit a description of their capabilities to perform within 10 days of this notice and the submission will be considered.
