Description
CLOSING DATE OF THIS SOLICITATION IS HEREBY EXTENDED TO APRIL 21, 2008 AT 2 P.M. Question 5) You have mentioned the requirement for the unit to be capable of doing static surveys using GPS & GLONASS L1/L2. Is the receiver also going to be used for Real Time Kinematic (RTK) survey work? If it is to be used for RTK, there will be other issues to discuss as well, such as what radio system does it need to be compatible with (UHF or Spread Spectrum)? Answer: No, the primary use for these instruments will be static survey. Question 6) Item 9 of the original solicitation indicates that it must have the "Ability to operate (start and stop recording) without separate datalogger." This implies that you will be using it for static post-processed survey work. If so, you have not indicated how much internal memory for data recording you require. The Maxtors could contain anywhere from 0 Mb to 96 Mb. The most common amount was usually 4, 8, or 16 Mb. How much internal data recording memory do you require? Answer: We will require enough memory on one of the units to log 14 days of continuous 1 Hz data, because it may be used as an unattended base station. The other unit can have less, but at least 128 MB. Question 7) You have not asked for training. Do you require training for operation? Answer: Yes, depending on the complexity of the equipment, we would ask for 1/2 to 1 day of training. Question 8) The internal batteries for the Maxtor would generally last for 12+ hours. Do you require internal batteries which last this long? Answer: This is fine for the internal battery, but we would need to be able to run one of the units off of a 12V car battery or AC power. Additional specifications: 1. One of the units needs enough internal memory to store 14 days of continuous 1 Hz data. 2. We would need to be able to run one of the units off of a 12V car battery or AC power.
