Description
This is the synopsis and public notice for acquisitions over $25,000. The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Aircraft Operations Center (AOC), located at MacDill AFB, FL intends to issue a firm-fixed price commercial items contract for the acquisition of (1) Automated Flight Following (AFF) tracker service and (2) 24/7 world-wide satellite phone service via the Iridium network for various NOAA aircraft and. It is intended that the order will be issued for one year and 4 option years. It is intended that a contract award will be issued by June 15, 2008. The proposed acquisition is for: (1) 24/7 world-wide AFF reports utilizing the equipment already installed on aircraft for 1 Jet Prop Commander, 4 DeHavilland Twin Otters, and 2 Shrike Commanders. Installed models are Sky Connect FLIGHTDECK with TRACKER AFF model 1616-450-01A, Sky Connect TRACKER AFF model 1616-050-05, and Sky Connect TRACKER AFF model 1616-050-05A. An AFF report is required to be sent every two minutes of flight and accessible via a secure website such as www.aff.gov. (2) 24/7 world-wide satellite phone service for 1 Jet Prop Commander and 1 DeHavilland Twin Otter via the Iridium network with Sky Connect FLIGHTDECK satellite phone equipment already installed in aircraft. NOAA requires the same equipment to maintain consistency in the fleet. Actual schedule start and completion dates for each task will be negotiated between the Government and the contractor. Interested firms shall include, in writing, company name, address, point of contact, telephone number, and business size; a statement regarding their capabilities and qualifications to perform this service. DOC, CRAD requires that all contractors doing business with this office be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR). No award can be made to a company not registered in CCR.
