Description
This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared inaccordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additionalinformation included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the onlysolicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are beingrequested and a written solicitation will not be issued. NASA/KSC has a requirement for one Long Wave Infrared Camera with the following salientcharacteristics:A Long-Wave (typically 8-14 microns) Infrared Camera with an un-cooled 640 by 480 elementfocal plane array is required.This camera shall be fully portable in that it includes abuilt-in display; operates from an enclosed battery pack, and has on-board memory forsaving images.It shall include an infrared ens (typical field of view between 25 -35degrees) and provide a radiometric measurement of the items in the field of view (from-20 degrees C to 300 degree C or greater with a sensitivity of 0.1 degrees C or better). It shall also include a visual camera that is co-aligned with, and has similarfield-of-view to, the IR camera. In addition, it shall include at least one digitaloutput, preferably FireWire or USB, as well as an analog NSTC output and it shall includebasic computer software allowing the images to be downloaded to a computer and providingfor limited image processing.All items will be shipped to the address below:Transportation OfficerNASA / Kennedy Space CenterJ-BOSC WAREHOUSE, BUILDING M6-744KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FL 32899The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the SimplifiedAcquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13.This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note 1. The NAICS Code and the small business size standard for this procurement are 33419/1000employees respectively. The offeror shall state in their offer their size status for thisprocurementAll responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. Questions regarding this acquisition must be in writing, via e-mail, to Erik C. Whitehillnot later than close of business (COB) April 22, 2008. Telephone questions will not beaccepted. It is the quoter's responsibility to monitor this site for the release ofamendments (if any). Potential quoters will be responsible for downloading their owncopy of this notice, the on-line RFQ and amendments (if any).Selection and award will be made to that offeror whose offer is the lowest pricetechnically acceptable source. It is critical that offerors provide adequate detail toallow evaluation of their offer. (SEE FAR 52.212-1(b)).
