Description

The U. S. Department of Commerce, NOAA/OAR/ARL/ATDD, plans to negotiate on a sole source basis, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, with Dell Federal Systems, 1 Dell Way, Round Rock, Texas, to provide the Dell PowerEdge R900 Server to replace a six-year-old scientific computing web server. The Dell PowerEdge R900 Server has four quad-core processors; 64GB RAM which can be upgraded to 128 GB; 500~600 GB internal disk capacit6y with RAID 5; and can run Red Hat Enterprise Linux Advance Platform. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by the closing date will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Evidence must be provided of ability to provide the required system. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. No written solicitation will be issued.
