- This is a SOURCES SOUGHT notice. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) - Iowa City VA is interested in identifying sources to provide Radiation Oncology services to the veterans that qualify as beneficiaries of the Iowa City VAMC. Service must be available 24 hours, seven days a week. Services will include a provider/facility for Radiation Oncology Services in the Iowa City, IA area. The VA will refer patients to the Contractor for consultation to determine the appropriateness of radiation therapy. If appropriate, the Contractor will develop a proposed treatment plan and provide treatment to patients. The patients referred will be those patients requiring a level of care not available at the VA. The Contractor facility must be JCAHO accredited. The Physicians providing services must be licensed and board certified in radiation therapy or a related field. The Contractor must process all licenses necessary to provide these services and undergo a background investigation. The history of demand for these services annually has been: Total Number of Patient Consults -189, Total Number of Treatments - 3842. The services are also to include Stereotactic radiosurgery-single fraction and fractionated, Extracranial radiosurgery, Cone beam localization, 4D imaging, gated 4D treatment, Total body Irradiation, Low Dose Rate Brachytherapy, and High Dose Brachytherapy. The Government contemplates a per procedure based contract that does not include direct resident supervision. The duration of the contract is to be a base year with one (1) option year. Your response should identity your company name, point of contact with contact information, indicate if you are capable of providing the services, capabilities statement including how 24/7 availability will be provided, such as relocation of staff. Please identify your business size, and if you are (by the definitions in the FAR) any of the following: Small Business, 8(a) disadvantaged, disadvantaged, woman-owned, veteran-owned, service disable veteran owned or HUB Zone certified. Your response shall be submitted no later than 4:00 P.M. CST, April 21, 2008 to Contract Specialist, Matthew E. Null at matthew.null@va.gov or fax to (319) 339-7121. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. This is not a Request for Quote, or a Request for Proposal, but for gathering information only on interested parties. NAICS Code 621999, Size Standard $9Million. Solicitation is tentatively scheduled to be issued on or about April 30, 2008. Only electronic copies of the solicitation will be made available.
