Description
The National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) seeks information on commercial vendors that are capable of providing a highly functional and highly sensitive AC resistance bridge for low power dissipation resistance measurement in a cryogenic environment. The results of this market research will be used to identify vendors that are capable of meeting the required specifications and delivery date. Requests for price quotations and delivery schedules will be generated base on the information obtained. NIST has a need for an AC resistance bridge that would meet the following requirements: 1. Resistance Measurements: The following resistance measurement capability must be achievable with a 1/e settling time-constant of 3.5 seconds or less; Resistance Rage (Ohms) Maximum Excitation Current (A) Maximum Resistance Resolution (Ohms) 25,000 - 15,000 4.0 E-8 0.07 600 - 300 2.0 E-8 0.1 160 - 80 2.0 E-7 0.01 60 - 40 3.0 E-7 0.004 2. Excitation Current: For each of the resistance ranges in 1) the excitation current must have full manual adjustability for a sample resistor power dissipation that covers the range of 100 nW to 50 fW; 3. Analog Output: There must be a programmable analog voltage output that is capable of generating a signal that is at least 9 V in range, resolution of 0.005% of full range which is linear through the range, and be configurable to put out a signal that is proportional to resitance over a programmable resistance range. The update rate for this output shall be at least 5 times per second NIST is seeking responses from all responsible sources, including large, foreign, and small businesses. Small businesses are defined under the associated NAICS code for this effort, 333314, as those domestic sources having 500 employees or less. Please include your company's size classification in any response to this notice. Companies that manufacture AC resistance bridges are requested to email a detailed report describing their abilities to todd.hill@nist.gov no later than the response date for this sources sought notice. The report should include achievable specifications and any other information relevant to your product or capabilities. Also, the following information is requested to be provided as part of the response to this sources sought notice: 1. Name of the company that manufactures the AC resistance bridge for which specifications are provided. 2. Name of company(ies) that are authorized to sell the AC resistance bridge, their addresses, and a point of contact for the company (name, phone number, fax number and email address). 3. Indication of number of days, after receipt of order that is typical for delivery of such systems. 4. Indication of whether each instrument for which specifications are sent to todd.hill@nist.gov are currently on one or more GSA Federal Supply Schedule contracts and, if so, the GSA FSS contract number(s). 5. Any other relevant information that is not listed above which the Government should consider in developing its minimum specifications and finalizing its market research.
