- THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR PROVIDESERVICE AND MAINTENANCE FOR A GOVERNMENT OWNED ABAR VACUUM FURNACE. Companies shallacknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendmentto subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued.The purpose of this amendment is to answer a question from a vendor. Question: Does the power supply associated with the Abar vacuum furnace need to becalibrated and tested?Answer: The question that the vendor is asking is not applicable to the work that isrequired. The requirements that are listed in the procurement are to flush the waterjacket, replace water and pneumatic hoses, replace O-ring seals, service the diffusonpump, replace thermal switches, replace/repair heat exchanger and blower motor, repairhot zone, and replace thermocouples. None of this work has anything to do with the powersupply. The due date for receipt of offers is not extended. Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASAAcquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on April 25, 2008. Documents related to thisprocurement are available over the Internet. These documents reside on a World Wide Web(WWW) server which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
