- Solid Waste Pick-up and Disposal INTRODUCTION This SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE is to determine the availability of potential small businesses (e.g., 8(a), service-disabled veteran owned small business, HUBZone small business, small disadvantaged business, veteran-owned small business, and women-owned small business) that can furnish all labor, dumpsters and equipment to collect and dispose of all solid waste generated at the Jefferson Laboratories in Jefferson Arkansas. The services shall include collection from the contractor furnished containers as described below: The Contractor shall provide nineteen containers of the following sizes: 5 - 8 cu. yd. containers 9 - 6 cu. yd containers 2 - 30 cu. yd containers Locations of containers will be designated in the contract. Containers shall be standard fireproof metal type which can be lifted and dumped. All containers and receptacles shall be emptied twice weekly, during the morning hours (0700AM to 1200PM) each Monday and Thursday. Only specialized refuse collection vehicles designed for refuse collection and matched with the containers being used on the premises shall be used for pickup and disposal. Exceptions to the regular collection schedule will be the two (2) 30 cu. yd. containers which are roll away containers that are to be picked, dumped and return upon request not to exceed 24 pickups annually. One of the 8 cu. yd. containers which will be located at building 12 west shall be cleaned monthly. The information from this market research will help the Jefferson Laboratories/OFFAS plan their acquisition strategy. Please be sure to indicate if you have a GSA schedule contract, a contract on GSA 8(a) STARS, or a contract on GSA VETS GWAC. THIS IS STRICTLY MARKET RESEARCH. Jefferson Laboratories/OFFAS WILL NOT ENTERTAIN QUESTIONS REGARDING THIS MARKET RESEARCH. BACKGROUND Jefferson Laboratories is approximately 35 miles south of Little Rock and 20 miles North of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. It occupies approximately 35 buildings. RESPONSE INFORMATION In order to respond to this notice, contractors must be able to clearly convey its experience and/or ability to perform the following tasks identified: 1. Provide standard fireproof, metal containers that can be lifted and dumped by truck hoisting mechanism. 2. Container collection operation shall be performed twice weekly, during the hours specified above. Scheduled pickups which fall on a Federal Holiday shall be made on the day following the Holiday in lieu of the holiday. 3. Containers shall be kept in a clean, serviceable and sanitary condition at all times. Containers which in the opinion of the Contracting Officer become unserviceable units shall be repaired or replaced with new serviceable units upon notification to the Contractor by the Government. 4. The container at Building 12 shall be cleaned monthly. 5. Only specialized refuse collection vehicles designed specifically for refuse collection and matched with the containers being used shall be used for pickup and disposal. Each response should include the following Business Information: a. DUNS. b. Company Name. c. Company Address. d. Current GSA Schedules appropriate to this Sources Sought. e. Do you have a Government approved accounting system? If so, please identify the agency that approved the system. f. Type of Company (i.e., small business, 8(a), woman owned, veteran owned, etc.) as validated via the Central Contractor Registration (CCR). All offerors must register on the CCR located at http://www.ccr.gov/index.asp g. Company Point of Contact, Phone and Email address Teaming Arrangements: All teaming arrangements should also include the above-cited information and certifications for each entity on the proposed team. Teaming arrangements are encouraged. Responses must be submitted not later than 4/23/08. Capability statements will not be returned and will not be accepted after the due date. The maximum number of pages for submission is 15 pages. GENERAL INFORMATION This Sources Sought Notice is for information and planning purposes only and should not be construed as a commitment by the Government. This is not a solicitation announcement for proposals and no contract will be awarded from this Notice. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this Notice. Respondents will not be notified of the results of this evaluation. Capability statements will not be returned and will not be accepted after the due date.
