- Description
- This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared inaccordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additionalinformation included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the onlysolicitation; offers are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This notice is being issued as a Request for Quotations (RFQ) for:Ultra-Violet Optical Parametric Oscillator (UV-OPO) - A tunable ultra-violet OPO lasersystem. The subject system shall meet the salient characteristics as follows: 1. The OPOmust be a completely solid-state system. No dye materials shall be used. 2. The OPOshall provide tunable emission (output) at ultra violet wavelengths ranged from 280 to290 nm continuously without changing optics. 3. Tuning resolution of the OPO shall be0.01 nm or less. 4. Linewidth of the OPO output shall be 0.5 cm-1 (inverse centimeter)or smaller across the entire tuning range. 5.The OPO shall provide at least 500 microjoules per pulse output at the wavelength described above when it is pumped at 532 nmwith 100 mJ/pulse energy at a 10 Hz rep rate, and 200 micro joules per pulse when pumpedat a 30 Hz rep rate. 6. Beam divergence of the OPO output shall be 1 mrad or less. 7. Polarization purity of the OPO output shall be 98 % or greater. 8. The OPO system shallbe integrated into an all-in-one unit including all optics and mounts.9. The OPO shallbe able to be pumped by Q-switched Nd:AG laser pulses at 532 nm (second harmonic) with abeam diameter of 6 to 10 mm (top hat shape) operated at either 10 Hz repetition rate or30 Hz repetition rate.10. The maximum dimensions of the OPO system shall not exceed 30inches long by 18 inches wide by 14 inches high. 11. All manual control is acceptable. 12. The pump laser provided by the requester is equivalent to Spectra-Physics Pro-290(injection-seeded Nd:YAG Q-switched Pulsed Laser, 10Hz or 30 Hz repetition rate, 0.003cm-1 linewidth, 10 mm beam diameter). The laser will be able to provide the OPO 100mJ/pulse energy at 532 nm (SHG); and residual 1064-nm pulses for mixing purpose if sorequired. The laser will be operated at its full power (typically <900 mJ/pulse at 532nm) for the best stability. On-site installation and training for 2 days at NASA GlennResearch Center one week after delivery of the oscillator. The provisions and clauses in the RFQ are those in effect through FAC 2005-24.This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note 1. The NAICS Code and the small business size standard for this procurement are 333314 and500 employees respectively. The offeror shall state in their offer their size status forthis procurement. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. The DPAS rating for this procurement is DO-C9.Offers for the items(s) described above are due by the close of business on 4/30/2008 toNASA Glenn Research Center, ATTN: Bernadette Kan, MS 500-305, 21000 BROOKPARK ROAD,CLEVELAND OH 44135-3127 and must include, solicitation number, FOB destination to thisCenter, proposed delivery schedule, discount/payment terms, warranty duration (ifapplicable), taxpayer identification number (TIN), identification of any specialcommercial terms, and be signed by an authorized company representative.
